The workflow described in the project
The TU Chemnitz project aimed to standardise routine sample collection and documentation. The report describes a laboratory CoBot workstation that handles Petri dishes, lifts their covers and captures images.
SupraWorx DataHub, Workbench and Devicemanager connect the handling station with data storage and analysis. Images are transferred to a configured TU Chemnitz instance and organised into datasets for further examination, including the evaluation of cell-growth images.
Why the connection matters
Linking a sample, its image and its processing history can reduce repeated manual entry and make records easier to follow. To assess the implementation, the relevant questions are practical: Is the correct sample identified? Is every image linked to its source? Can an interrupted step be recovered and documented?
How to assess results
The original company report does not publish before-and-after timings, error rates or an independently reviewed performance study. Its description should therefore be read as a project account, rather than proof of a quantified improvement in accuracy or efficiency.
Further development can build on measured workstation performance and the laboratory’s requirements for sample handling, reproducibility and documentation.
