EIC Accelerator 2026: funding and final cut-off on 4 November
The European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator is a Horizon Europe funding programme for start-ups and SMEs developing innovations with the potential to create or disrupt markets and scale internationally. It covers technology development at TRL 6–8.
2026 budget and support
The 2026 EIC Accelerator Open budget is €414 million; the Challenges budget is €220 million. The grant component is below €2.5 million for innovation activities, normally completed within 24 months. Blended finance may combine a grant with €1–10 million in equity or quasi-equity investment. Grant-only and investment-only options are also available under the call rules; small mid-caps may apply for investment only.
Who may apply and how
Eligible applicants include single start-ups and SMEs, including spin-outs, from EU Member States and Horizon Europe-associated countries. Natural persons or legal entities intending to establish an eligible company may also apply. The process starts with a short proposal, which can be submitted at any time and is evaluated monthly. A GO is required before submitting a full proposal. The full proposal is followed by an interview stage for selected applicants.
The final listed full-proposal batching date for the 2026 call is 4 November 2026. The Commission call page currently lists the call as open. Check the live portal and call documents for the applicable submission deadline and conditions.
