Austria | FFG Industry-Scale Reality Check 2026
Checked 9 October 2026
STATUS AND DEADLINE
Open for applications until 2 November 2026 at 12:00 Vienna time. The current FFG call page links guideline version 1.1, effective 6 October 2026.
WHAT IT FUNDS
Single-company experimental-development projects that advance a working prototype from a completed FFG-funded preliminary project to a first larger-scale demonstration in a real environment at TRL 7–8. Eligible technology areas include AI and data innovation, advanced production and robotics, chips and electronic systems, advanced materials, and quantum technologies/photonics. Project duration: 6–24 months. No consortium is allowed.
FUNDING
Maximum grant: €1,000,000 per project and company. Funding rate: 45% for small companies and 35% for medium companies.
SCREENING FOR SHOPFLOOR COPILOT
The AI/data and production setting is thematically relevant to the factory software project. This is not a confirmed match: the call requires an Austrian SME and a working prototype developed in a completed FFG-funded preliminary project whose funding period ended after 1 January 2025, followed by a real-world TRL 7–8 demonstration. Those applicant and project facts have not been established. Assessment: THEMATICALLY RELEVANT; ELIGIBILITY NOT ASSESSABLE.
NEXT CHECKS
Verify Austrian applicant status, EU SME classification, the FFG-funded precursor and its end date, prototype ownership/readiness, demonstration site, TRL, eligible costs and the live eCall submission requirements.
